Giovanni Cappelli

Giovanni Cappelli (PhD student in agricultural science ) main research interests deal with the assessment of climate change impact on agriculture, with modelling of quantitative and qualitative aspects of crop productions, and with the evaluation of biophysical models. He is the main developer of the CropQuality component (used within BioMA), that implements a library of approaches relating different aspects of rice and rapeseed grain quality to the conditions explored during the ripening period. The CropQuality component is/was used within national (“Climate change in Lombardy” project, funded by ERSAF-Regione Lombardia) and international projects (e.g., EU-FP7 ERMES and FIRST SCENARICE, funded by Cariplo Foundation).

Task leader in the EU FP7 project MODEXTREME. JRC invited expert within the BASAL training workshop on the rice model WARM. Expert trainer on BioMA platform within the EU FP 7 E-AGRI project.
